The faculty was founded in 1997.

Dean of the faculty is Roman Volodymyrovych Chopyk, associate professor.

The faculty cooperates with the following universities of Ukraine: National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, National University of Physical Training and Sports of Ukraine, Lviv State University of Physical Education, scientific institution and foreign universities : Bronislav Markevych State High School(Yaroslaw,Poland), Physical training faculty of Zheshuv University (Zheshuv, Poland).

Such kinds of sport as football, volleyball, basketball, athletics, athletic gymnastics, volleyball, rhythmic gymnastics and acrobatics. are taught and practiced in the Faculty of Physical Education.

Department of Human Health and Physical Rehabilitation

The acting head of department is Professor Ihor-Severyn Fliunt.

The department was founded in 2002.

Teaching staff of the department consists of 22 teachers. Among them there are 4 professors, 7 assistant professors and 12 candidates of science.

Physical training department.

The head of the department is Slimakovsky Oleh Vasyl’ovych.

The department was founded in 1948.

Teaching staff of the department consists of 18 teachers. Among them there are 1 candidate of Physical training science and assistant professor, 2 assistant professors , 7 senior teachers and 9 teachers.

 

Research study area:

According to the Ukrainian legislation the priority area is life science , new technologies to prevent and to treat the most widespread diseases , creation of standards and technologies of the healthy life-style imposition, quality enhancement and foodstuff safety technologies.

Subject area of the physical training department research work is “ The efficiency of Ukrainian national outdoor games and amusements application in the pupils’ and students’ physical education”

The department conducts physical training at every faculty of I. Franko state pedagogical university, Drohobych.
